What to Expect in Class
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Intro to BJJ: This is our foundation curriculum targeted for beginners and white belts, focused on positions, submissions, and core concepts in BJJ.
All levels: Class is focused on implementing and skill development, especially positional and live sparring. Students should expect to steadily push themselves mentally and physically.
Nogi: Classes are taught without the gi.
Leglocks: This is an advanced class covering leg entanglements and submissions applied to the feet, knees, and hips. Students must be blue belt level or above to attend.
Women’s BJJ: Woman-led jiujitsu class focused on skill development, positional sparring, and live sparring.
BJJ Over 55: Jiu-Jitsu class for senior students emphasizing a framework for practical and injury preventing application of grappling. Technique and sparring are tailored for student body’s mobility and strength capabilities in a supportive environment.
Open mat: We set the timer for rounds and the rest is up to you! Some students choose to spar every round, while others will workshop their techniques, drill, ask questions, or hang out. All students from any school or affiliation are welcome.
Women’s open mat: 10 rounds of live training with a competition focus. A great opportunity for women to train with other women with different styles and levels. All female grapplers welcome from any school or affiliation. One year of experience is required.
Judo
Judo Basics: This is our foundational curriculum for students to become proficient in fighting from their feet. Students will learn break falls, basic grip fighting, throws, foot sweeps, trips, and combinations.
Judo All Levels: This class emphasizes on tactical approach of judo randori, competition skills, chaining techniques and combinations. This classes includes live sparring.
Judo Randori: 10 rounds of live sparring.
Muay Thai / Kickboxing
Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs", as it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Class will be focused on technical pad work, agility work, and safe sparring.
